The Queen's Visit

H.M. Queen Elizabeth visited Portsoy in 1961

The Queen, accompanied by Provost George Wood

 

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, along with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, visited Portsoy on 14th August, 1961.  They had landed by launch from the Royal Yacht Britannia at Macduff Harbour that morning.  The royal cortege then paused at Banff, before proceeding to Portsoy, then on to Cullen.
